This subject is defined as, “The office and work of a Presbyter; the conduct of public worship; principles of sermon composition and delivery; principles and methods of Christian education in the parish; Constitution and Canons of this Church and the Diocese to which the candidate belongs; and the use of the voice in reading and speaking”.
Practical Theology, sometimes called Pastoral Theology, encompasses both the theological reflection on practical ministry and the application of theology to the practical needs of people in the church. It therefore encompasses, but is not limited to, the following areas:
- Evangelism
- Discipleship/Spiritual Formation
- Homiletics
- Pastoral Care
- Leadership Development
- Church Administration
- Constitution & Canons of the ACNA & Diocese of the Candidate
- Worship Leadership
