Welcome to the ACNA West Wiki

ACNA West is made up of five dioceses within the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA) located in the western United States and Canada and who are committed to working collaboratively.

Churches for the Sake of Others Diocese led by Bishop Todd Hunter

Diocese of Western Anglicans led by Bishop Keith Andrews

Anglican Diocese of the Southwest led by Bishop Mark Zimmerman

Diocese of Cascadia led by Bishop Kevin Allen

Anglican Diocese of San Joaquin led by Bishop Eric Menees

The first purpose of this wiki is to provide people seeking ordination within an ACNA West diocese with a clear understanding of the areas of formation that are desired by the dioceses. In particular, we are working on resources to support the Canonical Areas of study required by the ACNA. A common canonical examination covering the 8 Canonical Areas has been developed and is administered by the Board of Examining Chaplains of ACNA West. Candidates for ordination in the ACNA West Diocese can find information regarding the exam process and study materials on the Board of Examining Chaplains page.

How to Use this Wiki The ACNA West Wiki serves two purposes:

  1. As an academic standard based on the 8 Canonical Areas used to evaluate a candidate's education
  2. As a study guide for candidates as they prepare for ACNA West Canonical Exams.

Ideally, the ACNA Wiki should be given to candidates by their diocese early in their discernment process. If the candidate is preparing for Seminary or other kinds of formal theological education, the ACNA West Wiki should be used as a guide for course selection and academic focus.
