Born in 1946 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Michael spent eighteen years growing up in various parts of Oklahoma. He went to college in York, Nebraska and finished his under graduate studies in 1969 at Pepperdine University. He and Suzanne Rupert were married in 1966. They have three grown children and four grandchildren. In the mid 1980s together with about twelve other families they planted a non denominational congregation and a private Christian school in San Marcos, CA. Suzanne was the administrator of Community Christian School for twenty five years. They remained at Community Christian Church until 2015. Suzanne and Michael were confirmed into the Anglican Church by Bishop Eric Menees. He began Anglican Studies under Bishop Bill Atwood of the International Anglican Diocese and was ordained as a priest in December of 2015 in that diocese.

Michael was also employed by Salem Broadcasting as a talk show host from 1987 until 2005 in San Diego, California. He presently serves as a Senior Fellow and board member of the Truth Exchange which was founded by Dr. Peter Jones.

Michael presently serves as Rector of St. John's Anglican Church in Porterville, California.
